January 17, 201610 yr I see that unRAID 5.0.6 is still available for download and I was wondering if it's still free to use in Basic mode? I already have three unRAID 6 licences so I'm not a cheapskate trying to get something for nothing but I have some old hardware that I would like to use to build a stand alone pre-clearing station. I could, I suppose, get a temporary unRAID 6 evaluation key but they expire after 30 days. I realise that the pre-clear script could probably be persuaded to run on pretty much any Linux box but this seems like a very simple solution.
January 17, 201610 yr I think for the limited purpose you have it should be a good solution. The main issue with running an older version is getting support but sounds like you don't need it for this.
January 17, 201610 yr Author That's great. Thanks trurl. I'll make a bootable USB flash drive and give it a go.
January 17, 201610 yr I suspect it is unlikely that unRAID v5 will be discontinued for some time as it is the last version that will run on hardware that is only 32-bit capable.
