John_M
I see that unRAID 5.0.6 is still available for download and I was wondering if it's still free to use in Basic mode? I already have three unRAID 6 licences so I'm not a cheapskate trying to get something for nothing but I have some old hardware that I would like to use to build a stand alone pre-clearing station. I could, I suppose, get a temporary unRAID 6 evaluation key but they expire after 30 days. I realise that the pre-clear script could probably be persuaded to run on pretty much any Linux box but this seems like a very simple solution. Quote Link to comment
trurl
I think for the limited purpose you have it should be a good solution. The main issue with running an older version is getting support but sounds like you don't need it for this. Quote Link to comment
John_M
That's great. Thanks trurl. I'll make a bootable USB flash drive and give it a go. Quote Link to comment
itimpi
I suspect it is unlikely that unRAID v5 will be discontinued for some time as it is the last version that will run on hardware that is only 32-bit capable. Quote Link to comment
