New Set-up - works except for onboard NIC

Featured Replies

I am a novice and I just built a Unraid set up using some spare parts.

I am using GA-K8U-939 motherboard with 2 GB RAM. Everything boots up fine but for some reason onboard NIC doesn't seem to work.

It's supposed to be using Realtek 8100C Ethernet 10/100Mb LAN controller.

Before I moved the board to new box, I tested in old box and it worked fine. I was able to pull up //tower homepage.

Now that I moved the board to new box, it's not pulling any IP address.

How do I know that the NIC is working correctly and maybe it's something else (I don't have a link light for NIC).

Thanks!!!

It could be the LAN cable, or the built-in NIC might be disabled in the BIOS.  Until you can see the "light" on the LAN connector you will not get too far.

Post a copy of your syslog and we can see if anything else stands out.
