Joining Active Directory from SMB causing array to stop.

Featured Replies

Hello everybody. I'm having a problem with joining an active directory from the SMB settings in unraid. I currently have a windows server running as a VM on the unraid server, and when I attempt to join the unraid server to the domain my array is taken off line causing the VM to stop and joining the domain fails.

Does anybody know a way around this problem?

This sounds like another Use Case for a facility to have VMs that can continue running even when the array is not running.

Having said that I do not see why the array should go down in your scenario.  I can understand the network shares disappearing as Samba would need restarting, but unless the VM relies on such shares I cannot see why the VM is affected.
