Moving Docker containers & VM disks

Hey all, I have just added a couple of SSDs to my system as a cache pool, and want to take advantage of the extra speed they offer. I had initially put my Docker container onto one drive, and my VM vDisks onto the array, but I want to move them into the cache. Is it as simple as moving the files and redirecting the locations? Is that likely to cause complications? I don't mind rebuilding the Docker parts and VMs, but would prefer to move them if that is possible.
