No new drivers were found?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm quite new to this unraid thing, but I'm really looking forward to get this thing running. I have been following some of linus' videos on  YouTube, but when I am installing windows,  in a virtual machine, I get this error: no new drivers were detected.

I have tried all kinds of virtio drivers and I ha e tried it all over again. Even reformatted the system a couple of times.

Thanks

What kind of virtual machine are you trying to install?

There is a guide that may help you.

Thanks for the fast reply and sorry for my unclear question. I am trying to install a Windows 10 vm, and I have been following the manual. When I am trying to install the "balloon", "Netkvm",  "vioscsi", "viostor" or simply anything else, it just gives me a error message that no drivers were found :(

What am I doing wrong?

This should be right:

Looks good, although i'd recommend setting it all up via VNC and then adding your cards etc... also don't allocate core 0, host has preference for that one.

Here's how I installed the one 64bit driver I needed to install...

No idea then, sorry...

Where are you vdisks located?  They shouldn't be on your protected array.... the parity protection will trash your speeds and I'm unsure if the /mnt/user/ path will work, better to use /mnt/cache/ or /mnt/disk1/ (Although that would be parity protected but just to illustrate what I mean)

Thanks for your time anyways.. :)

My vdisks are located on the cache drive.. Even tried /mnt/cache/vdisk without any luck :(

The newest virtio drivers actually have a w10 folder for Windows 10 btw.

I would go get a new iso directly from Microsoft. It looks from the file name that you have a custom made version and that might screw up something.

Good to hear you got it working  :)

Its better to go straight to the source to get the iso when they have it available instead of trusting someone else slipstreaming and tweaking the iso. Unless you do it yourself and know what you are doing.
