January 24, 201610 yr Author well, I think my project of hybrid server/gaming machine is doomed lol. I tried during troubleshooting to install win 8 with nothing passed through and connected with VNC. It worked and I was able to install it, updated to 8.1 and then trying to do the free upgrade to 10 I just get a BSOD and it reverts back Ironically enough I am typing this from a Windows 10 VM but I needed to do the upgrade so that I could have a license for it

That fixes the issue.
