January 21, 201610 yr hi, after success on installing a openelec vm i'm now looking to setup a windows one, ostly so i can use rdp and maybe blue iris down the road. are the pro versions of windows also suitable? if so which version would you recommend for the eaisest install/setup for a relative noob? i've been looking at these, would they be suitable? or are there any other cheapish options? https://softwaregeeks.co.uk/product/windows-10-pro/ http://www.mrhightech.com/operating-systems/3496-microsoft-windows-81-professional-0885370633351.html http://softwaregeeks.co.uk/product/windows-7-professional-product-key-label-coa/?gclid=CjwKEAiAoIK1BRCRiMqphvnlwlwSJAAOebPMuKpp76H6OCMw9WVhj5axkX-AT0eq-XkZYRVIS_e5CxoCSCTw_wcB any other advice no matter how small welcome.
January 21, 201610 yr To host an RDP session, you will need W10 or 8.1 pro. W10 home cant host RDP sessions if i remember correctly.
January 21, 201610 yr Yep. getting going is pretty straight forward if you arent passing any hardware through to the VM, can all be done through the WebGUI. you'll just need the windows 10 iso and the windows virtio drivers.
January 21, 201610 yr Author great thanks again any opinions on the web retailers i've linked to? or would you recommend installing a free trial to begin with to see if everything works etc?
January 21, 201610 yr great thanks again any opinions on the web retailers i've linked to? or would you recommend installing a free trial to begin with to see if everything works etc? 100% use the trial to see if it ticks all the boxes. Ive a technet subscription I use for keys, so i cant comment on the best place to buy licenses. hopefully someone else chimes in with some info on that front
