HI - Been using this for a while.. just have one question that may be simple to answer.. i added a plugin (labelplus) but was told i need to access via the GTK ui. I notice on the docker that there is GTK support, but for the life of me i dont know how to access it.. i presently access deluge via the URL, but need the added functionality supported by GTK. ANy help greatly appreciated.. And as always, wonderful tool and docker!

You need to edit the auth file in appdata folder and create a user/pass to access deluge by adding a line like so:

username:userpassword:10

These are the credentials you use to access via the thin client

So this is amazing. I don't have any support needs, just a couple of questions regarding the VPN.

I've got the image up and running with PIA, but the download speeds are about 1-2.4 MiB/s. Which is fine, but since I've got a 500mbps down connection I could be pulling a lot more.

Since PIA supports up to 10 clients running at once, is there a way to split the traffic over multiple connections through the config?

In a word, no. However you should be getting better speeds than that, check link to documentation in op and go to the VPN faq and there is a section in the regards slow speeds

im assuming you mean ip leakage right?, unless you have set vpn_enabled to 'no' then there will be no ip leakage, what makes you think you have ip leakage occurring?.

I went over the different suggestions but still only hit peak speeds of 2.4 MiB/s. I am using the closed geographic server (Frankfurt) with working port forward. There is enough CPU and Memory overhead to accommodate the speed, as I get 50MiB/s on a deluge container without the VPN. The data all downloads to flash storage before being transferred to spinning rust on complete, so the drive cache isn't an issue either.

Following all the recommended steps (itconfig, GCM config, portforward, Bandwidth settings) but still my speeds are not improving. Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, my bad. I'm connecting to Frankfurt.

Edited post.

try 'CA Montreal', remember closest server != fastest server

edit - to give you hope, i have faster dl speeds than you (3.4MB/s), and my line is a 10th the bandwidth of yours :-).

So, I had a look a the actual speed i'm getting over the different VPN servers. In the attachement you can see the speed ranges from terrible (15Mbit) to pretty good (90Mbit). This is tested straight from the container. HOWEVER, my deluge still seems "capped" at around 2.4MiB/s.

What would be the next step in troubleshooting this issue?

firstly test with a stable swarm size, ubuntu iso downloads are always a good choice, lots of high speed peers, load this in deluge and see what you get:-

I think we are finally getting somewhere.

I've added the ubuntu image to deluge and got  peak of about 2.8MiB. But still am getting consistent sub 2MiB speeds, even on torrents with 2000+ peers. It's almost like there is a cache that keeps filling up, since as soon as the speed hits the 'cap', it throttles down to sub 1MiB/s only to creep back up to 2.8MiB/s and throttle again. This is now very noticeable with the ubuntu torrent.

I also noticed high IO usage from the deluge instance. Might this be the limiting factor?

ok, sorry to bang on about this, but you have definitely done all the steps in the slow speeds faq then right?, so reduced upload rate, disabled ') Rate limit overhead' etc etc? this can all make a significant difference.

So right now, the Incomplete folder is an NFS share mounted on the docker host. I haven't had any issues with this running a different deluge container, however I can see that with this specific configuration there is an issue. I use the default mount options for the share. As you can see the CPU load is nothing crazy, and this is with 10 active torrents 300+ in queue

yes i would suspect this is the bottleneck, if you can (at least temporarily) try changing the /data container volume mount to point at a location on the host, so NOT a nfs or smb share, if speeds suddenly shoot up then you know thats the issue.

After doing some testing, setting the download folder to the local host DID remove the insane IO load i was having. So for that I will be troubleshooting my NFS config. Possibly I'm using some flags that are not optimal for torrenting.

HOWEVER, it did not increase my bandwidth. I did notice less "flushing" to the local drive, but still only hit top speeds of 2.5MiB/s.

I will do some more research and get back to you guys after I find out the exact issue.

Similarly, I have a 50Mbit/s connection (in Philippines), and I'm seeing download hovering around 5MBytes/sec (up to 5.3) on the Ubuntu image.

What environment are you running in, itractus?  I'm on unRAID with my incomplete files written to the cache drive and copied to a protected share on completion.

PS:  Trying to create a new post but I think I am replying to an existing post...

Good evening,

Finally upgraded my UnRaid to 6.7.0 and the only casualty was my DelugeVPN container.  I attempted to start and continually receive an Execution Error (Server Error).  I've been looking around here for something similar but haven't yet found anything.  Since it first set it up, it has just worked... until now.

If anyone has read about this before, I would appreciate any guidance.  I checked my supervisord.log and the following was recorded for today:

Small question/issue with this container, and the answer may be somewhere in the 183 pages of this thread, but not on the FAQ.

It looks like Radarr really wants labels to be enabled in Deluge. However, I can enable labels, but that add-on gets disabled upon a delugevpn docker reboot.

Is there a way to fix that?

The letter I received from the ISP.  I definately have not set it to no.
