You shouldn't need it if you are on the same LAN... Is your computer in the 192.168.1.0/24 network? Is it connected to a VPN or Proxy by chance? You can run the command either way to see if it fixes the issue for you.

Yes, you will have to SSH into unraid itself to run the command. You can use the little terminal icon in the upper right have corner of the webpage for easy access.

@Roudy many thanks I have my deluge back,    now onto the next issue, is that Sonarr and Radarr are not able to see deluge,  looking at Q24, Q25.

fun times 😞 over

I have looked at How to route any docker container through a VPN container and added the two which he mentions in the video

image.png.a9e4f14b7ffb61add9be0c4774a2c663.png

and

image.png.31eed76ad1268b98650904c254db2c1a.png

I then tested in a terminal to make sure that the VPN is working and in both I am getting a different IP then my ISP. but when I try and access my Sonarr I am getting  ' This site can’t be reached '

any ideals ?

Hello dunno if I am doing something bad but I can't get it working on my synology NAS with a secure firewall rule (using latest & Using NORDVPN)
There is the message stucking in loop :

109723573-8b81d600-7bae-11eb-9220-d97b7f

There is the firewall rule :

109723521-786f0600-7bae-11eb-8fea-2a0beb

What I have tried with success and not ;

  1. Switching "Protocol" to "All" => Failed
  2. Switching "Port" to "All" => Failed
  3. Switching "Source IP" to "All" instead of the NordVPN server IP => success

I don't want my 443 port opened to the world so I miss something simple and obvious.
I am thinking about using UDP with the well known 1194 port obviously I have to open the 1194 on my synology's firewall to the world too ...
But I think that if I don't portforward then its secure am I right ?

Can you help me ?

Is anyone else having issue trying to use VPN with PIA?

The container auto-updated last night, and now I am unable to connect to the WebUI and it seems like it is unable to connect to internet. I tried reinstalling the container fresh, with fresh config and fresh appdata, no help. I also tested my PIA config with OpenVPN client on my computer and it works. With VPN_ENABLED to no, I am able to access WebUI, but obviously no VPN.

Hi Everyone, I am facing a weird issue that I can't seem to resolve.

I setup Deluge along with NordVPN (port forwarding off, privoxy enabled), Jackett docker going through the delugevpn privoxy, Sonarr and Radarr. Setup seems fine and everything seems to be working, I was getting good enough speeds (around 6MB/s on my 79Mbps braodband) and communication between all dockers works as expected.

However today I have started facing some really weird issues. Multiple torrents started showing a tracker error "Tracker Status: Error End of file" and I'm getting consistently 0KBps upload speed. Download speed seems to be affected as well and it's mostly capped at 600KBps with the occasional torrent that works fine and gets a full download speed and some upload as well (while still showing that tracker error).

So far I've tried the following,

  • Restarting Torrents
  • manually updating tracker (removes the error for a bit with no change to speed)
  • Enabling/Disabling utp connections
  • Changing VPN server/country (no difference whatsoever)
  • multiple different torrents
  • Restarting Dockers
  • disabling privoxy

There isn't much information on this trcker error anywhere online from what I can tell, and I can't verify what exactly it refers to either. I tried to check the deluge logs but there doesn't seem to be anything there. Only a warning is showing up occuring for all torrents I enable and again doesn;t point to something specific.

[WARNING ][deluge.core.torrentmanager    :1617] on_alert_performance: <torrent_name>: performance warning: max outstanding piece requests reached, outstanding_request_limit_reached

I'm really hoping that this is not related to NordVPN port forwarding support as it seems like it's related to the tracker and I have to stick with Nord until 2023 :(.

Any idea what the problem could be?

What are your settings for Deluge inside the web interface of those containers? It should be 127.0.0.1 instead of the IP of your server.

You have the ports listed in both the VPN_INPUT_PORTS and the VPN_OUTPUT_PORTS variable separated by a comma? No space is required. Also, do you not have the same issue with your Radarr? Is there anything in your Sonarr log? Is port 8989 listed in the Deluge logs on start-up?

The Synolgy firewall is only local to your NAS. Nothing on your Synology will be able to be accessed from the outside unless you connect your Synology directly to your modem or if you set Synology to use the uPnP to open ports on a supported router.

I'm not familiar with NordVPN because I have never used it, but what kind of VPN tunnel are you trying to establish? What other rules do you have on your Synology Firewall? We would need to see them all to identify why it is not establishing. It sounds like you have an implicit deny at the end of your firewall. You shouldn't have to allow traffic in that you are originating from your Synology.

It seems to be some kind of DNS issue? Opening the console to the container, I am unable to `ping google.com`:

[root@eccca8ca86ff /]# ping google.com
ping: google.com: Temporary failure in name resolution

However I am able to ping google IP directly.

[root@eccca8ca86ff /]# ping 172.217.164.206
PING 172.217.164.206 (172.217.164.206) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 172.217.164.206: icmp_seq=1 ttl=117 time=2.75 ms
64 bytes from 172.217.164.206: icmp_seq=2 ttl=117 time=2.85 ms

Anyone might know what might be causing this? I tried binhex_privoxyvpn container as well, same issue.

UPDATE: Since it seems to be a DNS issue prior to connecting to VPN, I changed the OpenVPN config to use IP instead of hostname. Now everything works, including resolving domains after it is connected to the VPN.

@binhex If this is now a requirement for the VPN config, I think you need to update the FAQ and setup instructions. Apologies if you did, but I could not find any mention of this.

Do you have any kind of parental/DNS filter on your network? It almost sounds like something is intercepting DNS queries. I don't think this is a wide spread issue or there would be more people on here talking about it.

I do have a DoH setup on router to force DNS queries, but it is weird that this is an issue now since I set that up a few weeks ago. And I know I had to restart the delugevpn container since then and it was fine. I can't change it now but I will check later and update here if that is the case. If that is the case, hopefully others that have same setup will see this and my workaround helps them.

Hey Binhex I've been using your DelugeVPN for a while, but decided to try to switch to WireGuard due to the buggy and limited nature of OpenVPN. I've followed this thread and tried a number of things without any success. Here are my logs, configuration, and WireGuard file. The error message I've been getting lately is the same one listed from some other people

I think this might have been the problem as I am now have sonarr confirmation that it can see deluge.

but Radarr can't see deluge but I am using the same information.

apart from that I have jacket and sonarr and deulge talking and working at the moment.

UPDATE: just discovered this

that the delugeVPN don't like being turned on - behind a PFSENSE VPN.

I have to turn both off, and then turn on the deluge, and then PFSense

would this be down to the IPTables ?

Are you connecting a VPN through a VPN? Is there a reason you are doing this? This would shrink your MTU size down and probably cause a lot of fragmentation. I would avoid this situation if possible. You should be able to exempt Deluge from using the VPN in your situation.

at the moment I havn't got the kill switch to work on pfsense for when the VPN gos down, also I don't want deluge to jump over to the none connection, if or when the VPN is down, so at the moment I have deluge on a VPN connection and all my other traffic goes through my other VPN.

@Roudy  any ideals on why my Radarr is no seeing my deluge or jacket when all the settings are the same as Sonarr ?

at the moment I havn't got the kill switch to work on pfsense for when the VPN gos down, also I don't want deluge to jump over to the none connection, if or when the VPN is down, so at the moment I have deluge on a VPN connection and all my other traffic goes through my other VPN.

I'm a little confused by this statement, maybe you could elaborate more. Either way, binhex has incorporated a very good kill switch in the container to prevent any kind of IP leakage.

any ideals on why my Radarr is no seeing my deluge or jacket when all the settings are the same as Sonarr ?

Nothing jumps out to me in the logs. Do you have any kind of proxy settings turned on in the Radarr web interface?

hi @Roudy as I stated the reason for the two VPN's is that at the moment I can't rely on my pfsense VPN, as I have two connections to the outside world.

I have one VPN for my deluge and the dockers which point to one location and I have another VPN for my country so that I can surf the internet in my language.   and yes I have to agree the deulgevpn is a great docker which has a build in kill switch which provents any unwanted downloading without the VPN.

yes I do have a proxy settings for Radarr but I would also like to point out that my Sonarr also have the same settings as radarr.

As part of the tightening up if you have applications using privoxy and are encountering issues then please read Q26 from the following link:-https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/vpn.md

Sorry, I think I missed the two connections part, my apologies! I'm a network engineer by trade, so I wanted to help if I could.

Because you are routing Sonarr and Radarr through the docker container itself, you will not need the proxy settings enabled, as all traffic goes over the DelugeVPN tunnel now. You should uncheck that box for both Sonarr and Radarr because it is now redundant.

I recently updated to Unraid 6.9.1 and after reboot Sonarr and Radarr lost their connections to deluge and jackett. I tried to follow through the Q&A which resulted in me losing deluge web ui which had been accessible previously. I initially had them all running through the deluge VPN using PIA and openvpn. At some point that stopped working and I could only get it running again by switching to wireguard. My brother is usually the networking guy so I'm kind of flying blind at this point and I don't want to blow anything up further. I've attached the logs but I think I'm just not understanding the last few Q&A questions and how to correctly set up the privoxy and change the settings.

I try to be good, but man 336 is a lot of pages.

I've resurrected a saved config (as I'd stopped using this particular docker for a while) and on install I'm getting this in a loop.

2021-04-08 15:38:31,292 DEBG 'start-script' stdout output:
[warn] Unable to successfully download PIA json payload from URL 'https://10.5.112.1:19999/getSignature' using token '(token hidden)'

I'm sure there's a simple solution here, but I can't seem to find it.

That is an issue with PIA. Are you using wireguard? You may just want to try redownloading from the APP tab unless there is something worth saving in there and you want to try and work through it.

You can use the search bar at the top of the page and just select "This Topic" under the "SEARCH IN" section.

thanks again,  this resolved the issue again.

@xhonestly Are your Radarr and Sonarr connected through Deluge Docker or just using it as a Proxy?

I have my set up based on spacedinvader's video to set up sonarr and radarr to use the VPN in the deluge docker via privoxy. I had it set up with openvpn but at some point that stopped working and I switched to wireguard.

Edit: Just got Deluge web UI back. Had a typo in the LAN_NETWORK. It defaults to xxx.xxx.1.0/24 and mine needed to be xxx.xxx.0.0/24

Man I'm glad I went to the end of this thread that Google took me to. This worked for me to get the UI up and responsive.
