[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN

Recommended Posts

I have a familiar problem of webui stopped working.  I have been using it for more than a year before this happened.  I have removed the docker image and deleted the deluge vpn folder on unraid the reinstalled and still no dice.  I have confirmed it works with out vpn enabled and it works. I have tried many different endpoints and with strict port forward disabled with no luck.

Log attached.

Hi,

Not sure if this is the exact correct place for this question. I have delugevpn set up an working fine. However  i have recently invested in a new router that has a greater funcionality over the one from the ISP. This one allows me to set a vpn at the router level, I just wanted to know those this have any effect on the delugevpn.

It depends how you setup the VPN on the router.  You probably have an option for excluding or including specific IP addresses.  Like with “policy based routing” any IP you put in will go through the router VPN and all others will not.

I started having DNS issues a few weeks ago as shown in the log! I already re-created the container but didn't solve!

Any ideas?

Been trying to use DelugeVPN for the first time on my Unraid box but I'm running into issues. Upon first trying to load the container I kept getting the error:

Options error: --status fails with '/tmp/openvpn/openvpn-status.log': No such file or directory (errno=2)
Options error: Please correct these errors.

I resolved this by jumping in via terminal and manually creating the above log file. Now it appears like the launch sequence completes successfully but I can't seem to access the web UI. Here's my supervisor log for the launch after creating the openvpn-status.log file.

To confirm I'm trying to load the admin UI (10.1.1.142:8112) from a computer within the network (10.1.1.14) and I'm getting a connection refused error.

So I have two Unraid servers both running DelugeVPN and both with the same issue.  as I mentioned before:

I have a familiar problem of webui stopped working.  I have been using it for more than a year before this happened.  I have removed the docker image and deleted the deluge vpn folder on unraid the reinstalled and still no dice.  I have confirmed it works with out vpn enabled and it works. I have tried many different endpoints and with strict port forward disabled with no luck.

Log attached.

supervisord.log

The WebUI is not loading, the difference here is I haven't upgraded unraid and I am still running 6.4

Binhex, did you change the default /data mount to /media ?

I only just noticed this as all my downloads started failing!

nope, the template hasn't changed in 7 months (even if it had it wouldnt change your template), and i dont set defaults for any deluge configuration.

DelugeVPN keeps removing my plugin "simply extractor" and reverting back to "extractor"

I don't use this docker and haven't use the application either.

How is this plugin installed? Typically the only things that persist in a docker is things in appdata since container updates are basically a reinstall.

I had appdata set to cache yes, I switched that to Only. Hope that this helps. Thought something between the drives once getting now transfered right or something

This doesn't really tell me how you install a deluge plugin. As I said, I don't use it.

Also, you should set appdata to cache-prefer not cache-only. See here for more details on how the cache settings work and ask if you need more explanation:

I switched to cache-prefer since I see its better than cache-only.

Here is image of my setup.

I went ahead and updated unraid to 6.6.5 which purged all my docker containers and their respective folders in appdata.  So I added binhex-delugevpn again and tried all vpn points listed here: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/helpdesk/kb/articles/how-do-i-enable-port-forwarding-on-my-vpn

and none of them allowed me to enter the webui.

Did you enter the PIA configs?

My apologies my more recent reply was a continuation of my previous messages note I have been running binhex-delugevpn for over a year without an issue until recently I have updated to the latest version of both unraid and the binhex-delugevpn docker and no webui.  So I now have the same issue on two different unraid servers.  Oh and yes I have my PIA creds entered.  Attached is my latest supervisord log.

What I was trying to get at earlier about how a deluge plugin is installed. I don't know, am not inclined to research it since I don't use it, and you haven't told me.

A docker container is a little OS designed to hold a single application. The question is whether or not the installed plugin resides in Unraid storage (appdata) or resides somewhere else in that little OS. If it isn't in appdata it won't persist since updating the container replaces that little OS.

Maybe someone who uses this will be able to help you.

Plugins should be installed in appdata/binhex-delugevpn/plugins/.

In the past I’ve had issues with plugin settings reverting to defaults (I believe this is/was a Deluge issue) but never had plugins completely disappear.

@scubieman What method did you use to install the plugin?

I use the install button then select the plug-in egg. The plugin stays installed. Just goes unchecked and extractor plug-in goes checked.

ive also seen this issue, i believe its a deluge bug thats been around for quite some time, as i cannot see any permissions related problems with the image and the plugin does install, its just deluge unticks the option, weirdly if you then re-tick it you can end up with multiple installs of the same plugin!.

You recommend qbittorrentvpn then?

its an option thats available although the web ui version of qbittorrent is missing a lot of functionality imho, it depends what you need, give it a go, its still in the early days and there is a lot of work to be done to the web ui for qbittorrent before its anywhere close to the gui version but it seems stable to me.
