[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN

No need to choose any proxy settings in the config generator. Have you set the port you forwarded in the deluge settings under network?

Yeah, I had been doing that. I've now generated a different port & used a Frankfurt server & somehow it's passed the tcp check.

The IP I've been given now shows the proper server location on whatismyipaddress.com. Is there a way I can do a speed test in the console? Difficult to compare... I'm getting 13-15Mbps download without the VPN on my main rig, 11-12Mbps with the VPN on & about 500Kbps in DelugeVPN, all with the same torrent (Ubuntu iso, plenty of seeds).

Most likely due to the PIA changes. Most endpoints don't work or have connectivity issues. Which will stop the torrents from seeding.

Is there a list which endpoint do work and which don't work??

The weirdest is that Deluge says it is seeding all my torrents but not the trackers. (That is due to above reason?)

The below image *was* the list of servers that supported port forwarding, but I don't know if it's still the case. It's one of the reasons I'm trying out AirVPN - I was having a similar issue in that the trackers weren't showing I had seeded some torrents, but they'd been in Deluge for days. I assume this is due to the VPN endpoint.

Okay, thanks @xxDeadbolt.

These ones don't work anymore, I conclude from your message?

I just renewed a few weeks ago at PIA for two years, so I won't go for AirVPN as I cannot pay for 2 VPN's at the same time...

I think some still work, @rikdegraaff I was using CA Vancouver earlier today without a major issue, other than it being slow.

My downloads have been working fine using the PIA port forwarding endpoints @xxDeadbolt listed above.

Just a question to those stating they are having issues with certain endpoints on PIA, are you using a file that has high availability?  I know I have SEVERAL files waiting for someone with 100% availability.  I just want to make sure people aren't mistaking VPN issues with file availability issues.  Just a thought. :)

EDIT:  I have seen slow transfer numbers as well, but not on a file that has a high number of availability.

Morning everyone...I'm having a strange issue.  Deluge is only moving SOME of the downloads it completes to the folder.  Here's my settings in deluge:

image.png.cb7a8d915d6219a4f20ee9e94dd0067a.png

Here's the docker config:

image.png.b9f2b247814a4fabaa1f73c808386557.png

Media is the share name, Process is a folder under it.  Completed_Downloads is a folder under Process.

Here's a torrent that it finished downloading):

image.thumb.png.66e82042520f37fbc755d5e64c516a44.png

And here it is sitting in the Incomplete:

image.png.f4f7db344dcbffe8e15495689677e844.png

The video file in question is complete - plays end to end without issue.

Any ideas?  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  I'm not sure where to go looking for the deluge log file.  Clicking on Logs from the docker icon menu for the docker only shows system type logs with no log info about transfers, moves, etc.

Thanks!

I have this issue I believe due to my backups and other server maintenance activity on a nightly basis.  I usually periodically review if there is anything that has not copied over, and manually copy them.

Yeah - it's not that - I don't have any backups pulling from the Process folder (or any subfolders).  Thanks for the thought tho!

But for the nextgen servers there are also OVPN files.
Aren't there no endpoints that work and have port-forwarding??

Yeah, I've used an Ubuntu torrent to test, no issues with availability. Speeds greatly differ between this container, my main rig with VPN both on and off (going from ~12mbps w/ VPN enabled on my main rig, to ~500kbps in DelugeVPN, using same server location).

Haven't tested with AirVPN as yet, but some private trackers don't show me seeding with PIA when it's been active in Deluge for days. Strange.

My backups are not on my Process directory either.  I believe it is the appdata nightly backup that shuts down all my dockers.  I am guessing if it is timed just right (or wrong), it is shut down as they finished downloading but not copied yet.

I also have the issue where the WEBUI does not come up, and I usually need to restart Deluge a couple of times in the morning to get it back.  I'm not sure if this might be the cause as well.  If downloads are still occurring but Radarr and Sonarr cannot access Deluge (I have seen errors in the Sonarr docker stating it cannot connect to Deluge).

Just my experiences with my setup.  I know everyone's setup is a little bit different.

Hmm - I don't have an issue with the webui not coming up.  The appdata backup I could possibly see, but Deluge is completing torrents at various times of day, so I don't think that would cause the issue...if I knew where to look at the Deluge logs themselves to see what it says when a torrent completes and the move fails, it'd be a start :)

OK, so small example - 5 active torrents, this is availability & speed on PIA:
pia.PNG.d9d2430b0c378b56d4fbdb8e94e93e7a.PNG

& the same 5 files on AirVPN

avpn.PNG.f3b8a5333cdfb9d162d40764aa0796b1.PNG

Difference, to me, is fairly nominal on availability - but the speed is horrendous, considering I am getting well over 10Mbps on my main rig, through both VPNs on the same torrents.

This would suggest the endpoint issues I, & other people, was having were temporary; however, this opens up a new query for me: why are my DelugeVPN speeds so bad?

In the DelugeVPN webui, click 'Preferences' > 'Network'. The incoming port here should match the forwarded port number you've been assigned by AirVPN.

If you're configured for PIA, I believe this is automatically done for you.

(I'm not sure if the incoming address was specific to me, so I obscured it🤣)

@AnyColourYouLike I'm having this same issue all of the sudden. Were you ever able to resolve this?

Not seeing the error above but I'm also unable to view the Web UI, not using PIA but I am using Mullvad.

It was working fine last time I was in it about two weeks ago. Is it possible a recent update broke it? I can post my logs if needed, but I wanted to see if this was a recent issue before I dumped a bunch of text into the thread.

Hi, for me it is the same: I am not using PIA, I am using Mullvad and out of the blue I cannot access the WebUI anymore (btw. the same thing goes for sabnzbd-vpn from binhex). As I was on vacation, I have no idea when this issue started, but I did not change anything... :/

I also cannot access the UI. I am using PIA. According to sab my last downloads were two days ago.

Problem solved. I get errors on all PIA end points except for the Czech one.

Still nobody who knows  why the private trackers doesn't see deluge seeding?

Or can someone confirm that the issue lies at pia's endpoints?

@darrenyorston maybe remove your vpn user and pass!

I will try to seed again with the czech ovpn file.

Did this fix your UI not being accessible or just fix the issue of your torrents not seeding?

The UI. I noted on the log that it was trying to make a conenction. It kept failing with an error 52. Once I tried the Czech end point it connected and the UI was accessible.

I wanted to summarize how I got Mullvad working with DelugeVPN as I had to piece together several "solutions" from different comments in this thread and there was some incorrect info; likely old.

First go to https://mullvad.net/en/download/config/?platform=linux (you may have to sign into your Mullvad account first), select a region, leave "Use IP addresses" and "Connect via our bridges." left unchecked, then click "Download". This will download a .zip file with all your config and cert files.

The .zip file will contain a folder with the following files:

mullvad_ca.crt (the cert file)

mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.conf (the config file)

mullvad_userpass.txt (a text file with your account number)

update-resolv-conf (some file with no file extension that I have no idea what it does lol)

You will extract these files later after we do the initial set up for Deluge VPN.

Next grab binhex-delugevpn from Community Applications (you've probably already done this if so just click "edit" on the binhex-delugevpn docker container)  and adjust the following container settings:

Host Path 2 (Container Path: /data) set this to your downloads location; usually a share you created. Mine is /mnt/user/Downloads. If you are using Sonarr or Radarr it should be the same /data path they use.

Key 1 (VPN_ENABLED) should be set to "yes"

Key 2 (VPN_USER) should be your Mullvad account number; a 16 digit number you received when you set up your Mullvad account which also can be found in mullvad_userpass.txt. Do not include the "m" as shown in the .txt file, just the 16 digit account number.

Key 3 (VPN_PASS) same account number as Key 2, no "m".

Key 4 (VPN_PROV) set to "custom"

Key 6 (STRICT_PORT_FORWARD) set to "yes"

Key 8 (LAN_NETWORK) put the first 3 numbers of your routers IP (most likely 192.168.1) followed by .0/24 (example "192.168.1.0/24")

Everything else can be left alone.

Click apply. It will pull the container and run it.

Open a file explorer and navigate to <your server>/appdata/binhex-delugevpn/openvpn/

Now extract the files:

mullvad_ca.crt

mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.conf

mullvad_userpass.txt

update-resolv-conf

from the .zip you downloaded from Mullvad into <your server>/appdata/binhex-delugevpn/openvpn/

change the file extension of mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.conf to mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.ovpn

Open mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.ovpn with a text editor and add the following lines to the bottom:

    pull-filter ignore "route-ipv6"
    pull-filter ignore "ifconfig-ipv6"

Save the file.

Restart the binhex-delugevpn container

That should do it. I hope this helps.

Hello,

Further to my last post, I have taken out a trial with Mullvad. I am having difficulties however in getting DelugeVPN and SabnzbdVPN to work with the change of VPN provider.

I've followed the advice quoted above, however both DelugeVPN and SabnzbdVPN fail to load and the logs gives the following error;

Quote

2020-08-22 17:08:17,515 DEBG 'start-script' stdout output:
Options error: Unrecognized option or missing or extra parameter(s) in /config/openvpn/mullvad_ch_zrh.ovpn:21:     (2.4.9)

I've attached two screenshots below of my ovpnfile (the only change to within the file are the additional two lines at the bottom);

20200822_171052.jpg

20200822_171127.jpg

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

***EDIT - Well, I was reading @binhex VPN faq and decided to try copying the two "pull-filter" lines directly from his page and copying that into the config.....and that seems to have done the trick. I'm not entirely sure how as they both look exactly the same from what was suggested above, however I have been wracking my head for the past few hours so the error is probably right there in front of me. 😂

Is there a reason why Sweden has been removed as a supported PIA end point with port forwarding?
