Thanks for the reply, that;s annoying but also not too much of an issue. You don't happen to know how I can fetch the --subtitles?

I don't actively use this anymore, I guess you'd need to update the main script or you maybe able to update the options file to set defaults either via CLI --prefs-add or editing the file directly - it'll be in your config folder and you just want the line:

subtitles 1

Can it download Radio Shows as well as TV Shows?

I have added a few radio shows to the list and although it seems to have searched for them it didn't pick them up, is there a way to tell it it is a Radio Show?

It looks like by default get_iplayer will only download tv shows by default, the start script (/home/nobody/start.sh) needs inside the docker image needs to be updated to include --type tv,radio

You can do the following to get it to work:

Create a file on your server with the following line:

type radio,tv

edit the binhex-get-iplayer container with an additional path.

Container path: /home/nobody/.get_iplayer/options

Host path: /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-get-iplayer/options

The only problem is the files remain inside the incomplete dir and are not moved because start.sh script moves files ending with mp4.

Does anyone know how to use a webgui with this??

there is no web ui for this image, you simply define the shows you want via the env var value for key "SHOWS" with a comma to seperate the list and get-iplayer then monitors and downloads any matching shows.

you dont need to putty in, all you need to do is edit the container and define the shows you want to download by setting the value for env var "SHOWS" (comma separated) get_iplayer is run for you inside the container and will search and download any shows that match the values.

What about those of us who don't use it as a PVR and just want to download the odd PID via command line?

Is it possible to change the download directory when using the console? (it defaults to appdata/data which is not ideal) I assume you do this by changing the /data/ mapping

Is it possible to run the get_iplayer program from normal terminal or only from the docker console?

Hi all, I'm seeing this warning when getting programmes:

Quote

WARNING: Required AtomicParsley utility not found - cannot tag MP4 file

Is AtomicParsley not supposed to be part of this container image? I also see that Plex has a very hard time matching any of the downloads and I guess this is why. Am I supposed to be installing AtomicParsley seperately or something?

Thanks!

BBC iPlayer is starting to do 1080p on some devices, any chance that get_iplayer will be updated to 1080p?
They is completely dependent on whether get I player can tap into the 1080p streams when/if available, (a question for the get iPlayer Devs not me).

@binhex I have noticed I get this error as well. Any chance of a fix? or could i just run sudo apt get install atomicparsley inside the container?

I'm also getting this error, although if you login to the container and run `which atomicparsley` it says there's one at /usr/sbin/atomicparsley

So it looks like it is a bug, as it shows atomic is installed but for some reason, is unable to be used?

Any ideas @binhex please?

I have now discovered that you can pass in the location of the atomicparsley binary when executing get_iplayer:

--atomicparsley /usr/sbin/atomicparsley

You will then find that tagging works as expected.

Hi any help on how to use this?

I tried 'his dark materials' then noticed it is over 30 days old so tried adding the weblink in to the PID section.

It now searches and finds the content but then says it can't write it...

Any pointers?
