do you have a cache drive?

do you have a user share called "transcode"?

what do you have set as your "Container Path: /config"?

Yes, there is a cache drive.

Yes there is a transcode share

/config is set to /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-plex

All the permissions are correct for the shares.

It's worked flawlessly for a long time now, it's something in the update.

Right now I've installed the official plex docker, and carried over the configs/etc..  So not in a rush to get it fixed But i'll continue to monitor this thread for questions / updates and i'll swap back when it's resolved.

I do love the binhex dockers :)

Evening guys, so just fill in the gaps here, this image (not to be confused with plexpass), did NOT previously have any code to process where you define transcodes to go (although the template does have the env var for it), so any value you had defined would of been ignored. so it looks like several of you had badly defined values for TRANS_DIR and thus when i enhanced plex to pick this env var up it caused a problem So two ways to fix this, either remove the value for TRANS_DIR and this will force the default value to be used (/config/tmp) or define the value correctly, a few examples as follows:-

note /transcode can be named anything you want

I want to transcode to ram - create a new volume mapping, host path /tmp container path /transcode then define TRANS_DIR so that it points at ram drive e.g.:-

TRANS_DIR=/transcode

/transcode maps to host path /tmp

 i want to transcode to the array - create a new unRAID user share named 'Transcode' (or whatever you want) and then define TRANS_DIR so that it points at your array e.g.:-

TRANS_DIR=/transcode

/transcode maps to host path /mnt/user/Transcode

I want to transcode to cache (preferably cache is ssd) - define TRANS_DIR so that it points at your cache drive e.g.:-

TRANS_DIR=/transcode

/transcode maps to host path /config/tmp

I hope this clears everything up, oh and btw this will NOT affect plexpass, as this has always had the code in place to pick up the TRANS_DIR and thus everybody must have it correctly defined already :-).

p.s. Recommended transcode method is ALWAYS cache drive, preferably ssd.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you can guide me in the right direction...

I installed the plex pass docker, I moved across my metadata from windows based PC, this has all been successful I've been able to re-map the folders from the windows based folders to the unraid folders.

Now I have a problem where I can't claim the server (I was able to upon initial install). I assume I have copied a file across that I shouldn't have, can anyone guide me on what I have done wrong and how I can fix it?

Cheers

Have a strange issue occurring I have encoded 5 movies that I own and I'm using Handbrake so I'm going to float this here first and see if its something known to Plex first since that is where the metadata seems to populate, when I encoded these video's even though the title was correct in the save as dialog box when I open Plex the video is always listed as of all things Madagascar 3 can't seem to find where this issue is hiding has anyone had this issue with Plex or am I barking up the wrong tree 9_9

its probably looking at the filename of the video and incorrectly matching it to the wrong movie metadata. my advise is store the video  in a folder named after the movie, this is what most people do, try and get the foldername to match exactly what the movie title is, i generally use IMDb to get the name exactly the same, once done get plex to rescan.

Hi,

I've used this docker in the past with no problems but removed it a while back.

Now when I install the docker and go to the WebUI and login, I get the "A server could not be found" message. I've searched loads of threads and tried various 'solutions' but can't get it to see my server. Any help would be gratefully received!

I tried deleting the Appdata folders but that hasn't helped.

Thanks!

Adam

what url are you going to? you need to setup the server first by going to the following (note this has to be done on your home lan, not externally):-

http://<your unraid host ip>:32400/web

ok and you dont have a vlan setup or trying to allocate static ip's to each docker container or anything weird like that right?.

I am also having an issue with Plex finding the Server5add24c7ec422_ScreenShot2018-04-22at6_10_22PM.thumb.png.d36288c302860036050406439c333b7a.png

I was having issues with Plex, and decided to reinstall.  I deleted the Plex docker and deleted the plex folder in the appdata folder.  Reinstalled the plex docker and that is when the issue started.  I've tried the other plex dockers with the same issue.  I've also tried deleting and recreating the docker img file, but I still get the same issue.

Here is my plex log:
