[Support] binhex - Plex

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys....new to Unraid and Docker Containers....I'm looking at upgrading my binhex-plex docker container, but I'm concerned that I'm going to lose the additional paths and variable (for nvidia video card) that I created on the version that I'm on.  Will those carry over?

By "upgrading" do you mean updating it from the Docker tab because it says an update is available?

Yes, that will preserve all current container settings.

FYI - Even if a container gets deleted, it can be reinstalled with the settings it had at the time of deletion by going to the Previous Apps section of the Apps tab and reinstalling from there.

Sorry, but is there a way that i can change it so that i can see it or is that just how the docker was created. (new to docker and unraid ;-) )
Your can switch it to bridge but then you will have to define all ports for Plex, and yes there are a lot of them, I don't know the port numbers so you would need to find that out yourself.

Here is a port list.

https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543147-what-network-ports-do-i-need-to-allow-through-my-firewall/

It's much easier to allow plex to manage them in host mode than to add them all manually.

Thanks.

I'm currently using custom br0 so that i can assign it a different IP address in that same subnet.  Is that why I'm not seeing anything there?  Plex is working fine (all ports seem to be open) and I can access the site by manually typing it into the web browser...just wanted another way to get to the WebGUI.

From googling i've found a vast number of threads on this issue, can someone summarise what I can do to fix it?

My plex docker is not stored on the array and i've never encountered any SQLITE corruption in the past. I'm currently running unraid 6.8.3

I have a backup of the plex docker, will restoring this help or is the problem else where?

indeed, the "Default appdata storage location" is /mnt/user/appdata/

Would it be a good idea to change this for all , or just plex radarr etc?

That's up to you really but I prefer to have things consistent so I have all paths for containers set to use /mnt/cache/...

Edit - note I am only talking about storing config on on /mnt/cache paths not media obviously.

Hi,

I'm stuck in a login loop with Plex. When I launch the webui, it loads, I login with my credentials and it says, "There was an error signing in." I try entering my credentials again, same error. I can log into Plex.tv with my credentials just fine.

Anyone else have this issue?

nope its just you :-),check 'network type' hasnt been switched to 'bridge' if so switch it back to what it should be, 'host', thats the normal reason for it going awol.

I am seeing the same error as APD189.
It was working fine before  the last update. I am guessing this last update might have broken it.

Is it just the two of us who are "lucky" enough to see this error, or are others seeing it too?
You are both very lucky, there is no problem with the image, I myself run this image and I'm running latest with no issue.

I know that this was covered not long time ago but I still cannot get the transcoding to RAM to work.  I tried everything and Plex is always transcoding to

/mnt/cache/appdata/binhex-plex/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sessions

This is my configuration:

login to plex via browser, go to settings/transcoder and see if you have a hard coded path set for 'Transcoder temporary directory', if so remove everything in there, save changes and restart the container.

Don't judge me - i'm new to unraid and using docker. 🙈

As far as I understood, you're also providing a plexpass-docker - so I think in this case is the difference to be able to use plexpass-user features - right?

But where's the difference between the offical plexinc release and your "standard" binhex-plex docker?
