APD189
Hi Guys....new to Unraid and Docker Containers....I'm looking at upgrading my binhex-plex docker container, but I'm concerned that I'm going to lose the additional paths and variable (for nvidia video card) that I created on the version that I'm on. Will those carry over? Quote Link to comment

Will those carry over? By "upgrading" do you mean updating it from the Docker tab because it says an update is available? Yes, that will preserve all current container settings. FYI - Even if a container gets deleted, it can be reinstalled with the settings it had at the time of deletion by going to the Previous Apps section of the Apps tab and reinstalling from there. (new to docker and unraid ) Your can switch it to bridge but then you will have to define all ports for Plex, and yes there are a lot of them, I don't know the port numbers so you would need to find that out yourself.Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Here is a port list. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543147-what-network-ports-do-i-need-to-allow-through-my-firewall/ It's much easier to allow plex to manage them in host mode than to add them all manually. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks. I'm currently using custom br0 so that i can assign it a different IP address in that same subnet. Is that why I'm not seeing anything there? Plex is working fine (all ports seem to be open) and I can access the site by manually typing it into the web browser...just wanted another way to get to the WebGUI. Quote Link to comment

naralez
Hi, I'm stuck in a login loop with Plex. When I launch the webui, it loads, I login with my credentials and it says, "There was an error signing in." I try entering my credentials again, same error. I can log into Plex.tv with my credentials just fine. 2020-04-21 22:01:09.259508 [info] System information Linux Tower 4.19.107-Unraid #1 SMP Thu Mar 5 13:55:57 PST 2020 x86_64 GNU/Linux 2020-04-21 22:01:09.297670 [info] PUID defined as '99' 2020-04-21 22:01:09.337968 [info] PGID defined as '100' 2020-04-21 22:01:09.420159 [info] UMASK defined as '000' 2020-04-21 22:01:09.456075 [info] Permissions already set for volume mappings 2020-04-21 22:01:09.492443 [info] TRANS_DIR defined as '/config/transcode' 2020-04-21 22:01:09.539044 [info] Deleting files in /tmp (non recursive)... 2020-04-21 22:01:09.573958 [info] Starting Supervisor... 2020-04-21 22:01:09,845 INFO Included extra file "/etc/supervisor/conf.d/plexmediaserver.conf" during parsing 2020-04-21 22:01:09,846 INFO Set uid to user 0 succeeded 2020-04-21 22:01:09,849 INFO supervisord started with pid 6 2020-04-21 22:01:10,852 INFO spawned: 'plexmediaserver' with pid 55 2020-04-21 22:01:10,852 INFO reaped unknown pid 7 2020-04-21 22:01:11,854 INFO success: plexmediaserver entered RUNNING state, process has stayed up for > than 1 seconds (startsecs) 2020-04-22 21:03:27,384 WARN received SIGTERM indicating exit request 2020-04-22 21:03:27,385 DEBG killing plexmediaserver (pid 55) with signal SIGTERM 2020-04-22 21:03:27,385 INFO waiting for plexmediaserver to die 2020-04-22 21:03:27,902 DEBG 'plexmediaserver' stdout output: Critical: libusb_init failed 2020-04-22 21:03:27,944 DEBG fd 8 closed, stopped monitoring <POutputDispatcher at 140544712641840 for <Subprocess at 140544712641984 with name plexmediaserver in state STOPPING> (stdout)> 2020-04-22 21:03:27,944 DEBG fd 10 closed, stopped monitoring <POutputDispatcher at 140544712642128 for <Subprocess at 140544712641984 with name plexmediaserver in state STOPPING> (stderr)> 2020-04-22 21:03:27,945 INFO stopped: plexmediaserver (exit status 0) 2020-04-22 21:03:27,945 DEBG received SIGCHLD indicating a child quit Quote Link to comment

xamindar
Nope, still set to host. No worries though. I actually tried that jellyfin after and really like that a lot more. Think I might just stop using plex....unless they have a %50 off sale on the plexpass any time soon lol. Quote Link to comment
Ramiraz
I am seeing the same error as APD189. It was working fine before the last update. I am guessing this last update might have broken it. Is it just the two of us who are "lucky" enough to see this error, or are others seeing it too? Quote Link to comment

dariusz65
I know that this was covered not long time ago but I still cannot get the transcoding to RAM to work. I tried everything and Plex is always transcoding to /mnt/cache/appdata/binhex-plex/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sessions This is my configuration: Edited May 3, 2020 by dariusz65 Quote Link to comment

Maddeen
Don't judge me - i'm new to unraid and using docker. 🙈 As far as I understood, you're also providing a plexpass-docker - so I think in this case is the difference to be able to use plexpass-user features - right? But where's the difference between the offical plexinc release and your "standard" binhex-plex docker? Edited May 4, 2020 by Maddeen Quote Link to comment
Spritzup
@binhex just a quick question regarding how you've set your container up for transcoding. What is the purpose of having the "TRANS_DIR" variable, vs just having a path mapping and putting the transcode directory properly in the Plex settings? Thanks you! ~Spritz Quote Link to comment
