[Support] binhex - Plex Pass

Recommended Posts

Edit: Updated to new docker with 1.20.2.3370 public version and it seems to work for me again.

Is there a bug in the version in current image?

Server Version#: 1.20.2.3343
Player Version#: 8.6.0.20351 (shield pro version 8.2.0 (32.6.435.1)

When going into the plex client on the shield today i noticed that my last added movies was gone. I have done no changes to the config and have been the same for months. I tried to add the last added movies to the home screen again. didnt happen. did it again with some others sections i could add. Then tok a reset of the shield. Same error.

Then i did a reset in plex client and did go auto mode for homescreen. All sections ok.
Did go back to manual setup. Tried to remove plex shows etc that i dont use. It then removes all my “my added tv shows” and “just added movies” sections from the client. See video https://youtu.be/MwFppBkckDY

Anyone else have this?

First, thanks binhex and all the great work that went into this docker!

Just came on here to investigate my first issue with plex. Disclaimer, I'm very new to unraid, like 2 months ago new. Anyways, I noticed my shield would lose connection to the server, I confirmed the server was up on my laptop through a web player. It wasn't until I went into unraid and updated the docker (there happened to be an update) that it fixed this. I had tried restarting the shield, checking it had internet to no avail. Anyways this happened again yesterday. So twice this week, where it lost connection, I see that there happens to be an update, I apply it, and then it's fixed.

Is this normal behavior? I mean even if the shield plex app was updated there should be compatibility there right? Seems odd to me and wanted to confirm that this isn't normal behavior, so I wouldn't have to expect that everytime there's an update to the docker that my shields will lose connection to it.

Thanks all.

Hello, I am switching my Plex server to this Unraid Docker.  I have access to a Nvidia GTX 970.  I am interested in installing this video card for hardware assist.  This is my setup:

I have a Unraid virtualized on esxi 6.5.

What I plan to do:

Install the Nvidia gtx 970.

Pass through the video card to the Unraid VM.

Questions:

Will this work?

If so, what else will I need to do to enable hardware assist using the GTX970?

Thanks in advance for any help

Bill

My binhex-plexpass version says "not available"

Anyone else seen this?

Capture.PNG

That typically means you are offline I think (Or can't get a connection to the cloud services/docker images that are trying to be checked)?
If you are online you should be able to click check for updates I think.

I just updated to the latest release of this and I am finding that the hw transcoding isnt working like it used to. It seems to have gone back to encode only? I am seeing very high CPU usage as a result. Maybe its just me or randomly the media being watched atm cant hw decode. just curious if anyone else is seeing this?

its not just you

the easiest solution is to install a "custom" kernel with updated drivers -- super easy

You can also download a prebuilt one. ;)

ah ok.... cheers for the response. I dont really want to update to the beta version of unraid just yet. CPU is ok to deal with it for now until the linuxserver plugin gets updated. Thanks again

It also works for the stable version. ;)

By default it's designed to work with the stable.

Using your plugin will it just update the driver? Or would i have to remove the linuxserver plugin then install yours???

This is not a plugin.

What the linuxserver plugin does is that it downloads a prebuilt Custom Unraid image from their servers and you have to reboot your server.

My 'thing' is a Docker Container for Unraid itself that allows you to build your own Custom Unraid image (really really easy), just start it and open the log for the container (the build process will take about 15minutes on a i7 2600 with an SSD).

So you can build with the latest nVidia drivers.

EDIT: But you have to replace the files on your bootdrive manually.

I also have a Plugin in the CA App that reads basically everything from your Server that you can build with my Docker Container and display it (like the linuxserver.io plugin but with the advantage that you can integrate nVidia, DVB, ZFS and many more but you don't have to).

Please report back how it went, should be really simple.

One sidenote, download it now from the CA App and choose your build options (you don't have to fill everything just the things you need), start it and let it do it's thing when you come back it is finished and you can replace the files on your boot drive and restart the server. ;)

EDIT: Don't forget to backup the existing files on your local computer.

Hey guys,

I'm trying to collect plex logs, but when I navigate to the logs folder in krusader it says it cannot open the folder.  I also tried deleting the Logs folder to see if Plex would recreate it but it would not delete.

Searched this thread, but didn't find any issues like this yet.  Any idea why this is or how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi binhex,

I have an issue with transcoding EAC codecs, and I get the following error in the logs:

It have been working in the past, but not sure when the the error started. Any suggestions how to fix this?

billede.thumb.png.ffd92fe17ecf2faccfb3f94b9e71c82c.png

I use PMS 1.20.4.3517 and unRAID 6.8.3

Just a follow up.

I deleted the content of the Codec folder witch seemed to have fixed the issue.

Hi!

My unRaid server had a restart (normal restart, not crash), and now when I start the Plex docker, it continuously starts and stops, without ever being able to load the UI. Any idea what could have gone wrong (and how to fix it)?

agreed, your only course of action here is restore from CA backup (you do this right? :-)) or wipe plex database and re-index all media.

Of course I do....

I was able to restore from a Plex DB backup from a week ago. So we are good again. Still not sure what caused the corruption though.  Thanks for the help!
