October 27, 200916 yr I just installed 4.5 Beta 7 along with unmenu. I can access the web management interface. I see my drives, they're formatted, and the array is online. It's an array w/3 Seagate 2TB drives. Parity and the 2 data drives all show green. Network is set up as a static IP. Under users it shows root. I do not have a password set for root. Under Shares -> export settings -> User Shares it shows as enabled (greyed out). I have 1 user share set up - Data/HighWater/0/disk 1/Export Read/write If I go to file browser and browse to /mnt/disk 1 I see the Data directory. However I cannot access the share from my XP pro desktop. It is part of an AD domain, but that shouldn't be a problem if I'm not using any security, should it?
October 30, 200916 yr Author I removed the beta version and went to v4.4.2. After the install the unraid box wouldn't show on the network. I did a search on my MB and found that another user had to bump to 4.5b6(IIRC) for the nic to work. So back to beta 7. After install and another 10+ hour parity rebuild I turned on the Local master in settings. I was able to access the shares from my 2003 server. Tried from the desktop and no go. I'm using Zonealarm as my firewall. Turned it off and voila! It turns out Zonealarm doesn't automatically set your local subnet as trusted. Turned it back on, added my subnet to the trusted and all is good. Now it's time to gut the SansDigital PSU, wire the SansDigital to the fanless PSU in the Siverstone SG05 chassis, and start ripping.
