October 28, 200916 yr Just before I actually do this, i wanted to check the process for upgrading an existing disk, with a new disk attached to a different controller.. Is it as simple as assigning the new disk to the old disks 'slot' and then start the array? It is as simple as that. (unless the new disk is bigger than your existing parity disk, then it is only slightly more complicated) After you swap the disk assignments use the "Start" button on the main management page to reconstruct your data onto the replacement disk. (You may need to check the checkbox under "Start" to enable the "Start" button) Whatever you do, do not NOT use the button labeled "restore". It does NOT restore data. Pressing it invalidates parity immediately, not something you would want to do if you want to upgrade an existing disk. Joe L.
