Barry Staes
LanCache speeds up the game update downloads of Steam, Blizard, Hirez, Origin, Riot Games, Sony, Turbine, XBox, and Windows Update. And it seems like a perfect match for Unraid, backed with lots of storage and a fast cache. Its also established / used on several LAN party events to minimize network congestion. Article: http://blog.multiplay.co.uk/2014/04/lancache-dynamically-caching-game-installs-at-lans-using-nginx/ There even is a docker: https://hub.docker.com/r/mpawlowski/lancache/ I would be happy to make this my first ever docker, if someone feels like giving me guidance. I'm hosting a LAN party in about a week from now, and hope to use this to seriously accelerate the Steam downloads. But i feel more people would like to use this. Quote Link to comment

goosetauf
Did you ever figure out how to get this to work? Quote Link to comment
ColeBrodine
I thought I'd throw in here too. I'd love to get LANcache to work on unRAID. I'm doing some experimenting without much luck right now. Quote Link to comment
Mikki
I am using steamcache, working perfect, using docker on unraid. More info: https://github.com/steamcache/generic (Cache server) https://github.com/steamcache/sniproxy (sniproxy for https, needed for Origin and Epic Games) https://github.com/uklans/cache-domains (cache domains for own DNS server) or https://github.com/steamcache/steamcache-dns (dns server with cache domains) Edited March 6, 2018 by Mikki Quote Link to comment

Unfortunately I could not get this to work. I was really confused how to setup all the dockers. Happen to have a write up of the process? Quote Link to comment

I wil start recommend plugin Community Applications On 29/5/2015 at 4:48 AM, Squid said: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg In the apps tap search for steamcache and download the "generic cache" i will recommend to use you network interface as network type eg "br0" and then add a fixed ip you know is not in use as port 80 is used by unraid by default apply the docker. If you have a router were you can setup dns records then add thies domains pls.patch.station.sony.com gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net gs2.sonycoment.loris-e.llnwd.net https://github.com/uklans/cache-domains/blob/master/sony.txt and point them to the fixed ip set for the cache, if your router do not support do set some dns records then go to the apps tap and download the steamcache-dns and change your dhcp settings in your router to use steamcache-dns as dns server 1 Quote Link to comment
sadkisson
Thank you @Mikki I appreciate your help! I was able to get this working by installing the steamcache-generic docker and a dnsmasq docker from jpillora/dnsmasq. The steamcache-dns docker is missing the Sony servers for some reason. Will save me some bandwidth now! Quote Link to comment
