Its been a while since my last build so i'm little rusty. And in reading elsewhere I believe a good, recommended MB and CPU combo is the ASRock E3C224D4I-14S - New Egg Link Intel Xeon E3-1230 New Egg But it looks like MB has a socket type of 1150 and the CPU is an 1151, thus does not appear there are compatible? Does AsRock make an 1151 server board? Per NewEgg I only see a supermicro and gigabyte. Link to comment
TUMS Posted January 27, 2016 Share Posted January 27, 2016 1151 skylake motherboards are still very new and not really fully out on the market yet. Either wait a bit and get a better selection of boards to choose from or just do a 1150 haswell build. Link to comment
