January 29, 201610 yr So i was thinking the other day, wouldn't it be cool if you could run Docker on OpenELEC, i mean it fits their philosophy really well of very fast, lightweight appliance computing, and what do you know it now exists as an Addon created by lrusak, pure coolness :-) http://openelec.tv/forum/unofficial-openelec-addons/79819-lrusak-docker#156463 so i downloaded the Kodi repo and installed the Kodi Docker addon onto my google chromebox running openelec 6.0.1 and voila!, i got myself Docker 1.9.1 running, pulled down an image created by some bloke called binhex and had Plex Media Server running, my inner geek leaped with delight :-).
January 29, 201610 yr Not so sure about those binhex containers myself.... hehe [emoji6] Of course I'm joking, I use your deluge-vpn container with great success....

January 29, 201610 yr WTF...I had no idea that OE 6.0.1 was even released. I was waiting for this as it *MAY* contain the changes to include native virtio support. Going to DL the image now and start playing! John

I'm a Kodi man at home. Use Plex for mobile devices and have got Emby just to check it out. Lack of PVR in Plex is a deal breaker for me, but I do think Emby could be a contender if they made an Openelec like distro. At some point I'll get around to trying out the Emby plugin for Kodi, but to be honest, my current MariaDB backend with the Kodi Headless container and TVHeadEnd container is rock solid. I think linuxserver.io and yourself cater for the two different approaches to containers personally, and I believe there's room for both. Keep up the good work fella. I'm not involved in docker dev myself, that's Sparklyballs, lonix and smdion.

January 29, 201610 yr Anyway, looks like the virtio additions were not pushed the v6 branch...only master which is v7.
January 31, 201610 yr are you a kodi, plex or emby man?, lots of people seem to be getting quite excited about emby, i remember back in the old days running mediabrowser on wmc.... I remember in the mid 80's going to the video store and renting movies on Beta cassettes. I would take them home and play the movie on one VCR and recording with a second VCR. I would get 2 movies on one tape. I would use the little counter and log how long I would have to fast forward in order to get to the start of the second movie. Had nice big sticker labels to make all those notes. I thought it was the bees knees.
December 24, 20169 yr It would be cool to be able to use your containers on openelec. Can you point to some documentation about how I could install it?
