January 29, 201610 yr Hi all I am experiencing some weird problems with the GUI since the upgrade. The shares are available all the time but the management of my unraid box is missing from most tabs. I cannot access MAIN,SHARES and some others I am just wondering if any one else is experiencing this ? no log files attached will attach a log file soon as i have rebooted and am waiting for it to happen again as it does on a regular basis in about 3 days or so... mainly posting to find out if any other users have had the same issues.. thank you [never had any issues on 6.1.6 or younger]
January 29, 201610 yr Community Expert Have you made sure that your unRAID server is whitelisted if your browser is running an adblocker. There have been lots of reports recently of adblockers interfering with the unRAID GUI.

Have you tried accessing the web GUI from a browser running on a phone or table to see if you get the same issues? That might help pin down whether it is a browser issue (which the symptoms suggest) or something more fundamental. If you are reasonably sure that it is not the browser then it is worth posting the diagnostics ZIP file. That can be obtained either by using Tools->Diagnostics from the GUI or by using the 'diagnostics' command from a console/telnet session.
February 18, 201610 yr Author Sorry to rehash an old post.. It's still happening to me roughly every 4 days or so... I would just like some advice on how to remove everything [i do not have physical access to the box] and start as if it was a fresh install, I would like to keep the shares if possible. I will then see if it is still happening after that.. Thanks for any help ...

I think you will need to at least get the flash drive in your hands and into another computer to do a new install. Take a screenshot of your disk assignments. Do a new install to the flash and add your .key file to config folder. Bootup and assign your drives as before making very sure you don't assign a data drive to the parity slot. Checkbox for parity valid. Start. Your shares will be there because unRAID makes all top level folders into shares automatically, but they will have default settings, so you will have to make any settings for each share again. Or you could copy shares.cfg and the shares subfolder from config and restore them but that wouldn't be quite as clean as a new install.

Yes you are correct i did not give any diags from the current build as i have been going docker mad and have installed and uninstalled lots of dockers and plugins over the last few months and now i thought i created my own problem so i want to start fresh with the main plugins i want and one docker[emby] and see if i experience the same problems. My understanding is you can delete all the files off the stick while the server is on and then copy back the fresh files from the install zip and just leave the boot files when i do the delete. I just wanted to achieve this without getting under my desk as it's in a very awkward place to get out the usb. So i was just looking for some advice on what is the right files to leave behind and then copy over the original install files. I do realise some of the plugins keep configs on the stick but i plan to uninstall or disable everything before i start and that also the advise i am looking for. If not possible I understand. Thanks again for any help. [i also don't want to waste the community's time troubleshooting the current build.]

After uninstalling any plugins and disabling docker I think you should be good, just make sure there is nothing in these folders: extra if it exists plugins if it exists packages if it exists (just in case some future plugin install tries to use them) config/plugins except for what is in that folder from the install zip file and make sure your config/go file is the same as the one in the install zip. That should take care of anything that gets loaded or run at bootup.
