I am attempting to use Meld in my ElementaryOS VM to compare

Tower1/ShareA - Mounted in FSTab as ReadOnly

Tower2/ShareA - Passed through to VM

 

The VM is on Tower2/Cache with cores 3&4 on a quad core intel with 4 GB of ram.

 

On Tower1 I can see Meld showing Active Stream Reads, keeping the array spun up

On Towre2, given that the access is not via SMB, no Active Stream Reads and once the array disks spin-down Meld Fails.

 

How do we have the Tower2 recognize streams via pass-through (when not using SMB) so the array does not spin down?
