VM Nvidia Grafikkard

Featured Replies

hi erverybody

i have a problem: I have a HP ProLiant 380dl G5 Server and installed a zotec gtx 560ti.

virtualisation is working but the pcie passthrough is not. (in unraid info it shows IOMMU disabled)

is there a possibility to make the grafikkard work in a VM (Windows 10)?

please help!

A quick google came up with this. I have no clue whether or not it applies to your specific model, or if it will even help.

To enable VT-d in your system,

Reboot your server and go into the BIOS by pressing F9. Go to "Advanced options > Processor Options" and enable these two sub-options:

"No-Execute Memory Protection" and

"Intel® Virtualization Technology"

thank you but I already did enable "No-Execute Memory Protection" and

"Intel® Virtualization Technology"

the question is can i get the grafikkard running without the pci e passthrough in the VM or

can a bios update (firmwireupdate) make the pci e passthrough possible?

A quick google search showed that vt-d is not supported unfortunately.

From what I read it was available from the G6.

Your hardware doesn't support pass through, so no matter the force it won't work  ;)

ok thanks. so the only thing left to do is to buy a new mainboard

If the VM is only used for streaming to other systems (and not watching), then why do you even need GPU passthrough?

ok ok my bad. I whant to stream games and videos ;) to other devices.

Do I missunderstand somthing? After installing the VM it shows Microsoft Displayadapter.

Nvidia driver tells me that there is no supported hardware.

I'm sorry but I'm a N00b ;)

Ah, so you're trying to use NVidia's technology for streaming from inside the VM. Without pass through this will never work on your system, you will need VT-d on your hardware to make it work.
