Oldslugger
Thank you to all those that replied to my last post about potentially using an Opteron processor, after a lot of research and financial boost I have decided to go down the Intel Xeon E5 route. The build is for my wife and I to use concurrently, as well as act as secure storage for my files and photos. Photography is part work part hobby of mine and I have already lost important photos when our Seagate NAS went, which prompted me to build my own solution. Here are my proposed spec: Processor: Intel Xeon E5 2630V3 x2 MB: Asus Z10PE - D16 WS RAM: Crucial 64GB (4x16GB) ECC registered 2133MHz Cooler: Noctua NH -12UDX x2 PCIE M.2 adaptor - Lycom DT120 NVME M.2 adaptor OS drive: Samsung 512GB 950 Pro M.2 Cache drive: Samsung 512GB 840 Evo Storage drives: HGST 4TB x6 (1 parity) Video: MSI 950 & MSI 980Ti PSU: Corsair AX1500i Case: Lian Li PC-08 The build maybe a bit of overkill, but I normally don't upgrade for 5 years. Will this set up be compatible with unRaid? Link to comment
