February 1, 201610 yr Hi lads, I've been able to partially upgrade from version 5 to 6. A follow up from here: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=46023.0 I used the guide from this post: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=41003.0 However like several users I've had to download the unRAID 6 zip files and copy the syslinux directory to the flash drive and run make_bootable, all good. So far so good, first thing I check is that all my disks are in the right slots, they are indeed correct. Then I recheck my shares, not good. I click on a share and try and correct it, only include the disk that was originally designated for it and it accepts it. No dice. I go and browse the server via Explorer in Windows and when I access the correct disks, my files aren't there however they are being shown on the incorrect disk location. Question 1: How can I correct this? Question 2: Could someone please point me to the correct direction as to what I need to do to a. Install Plex Media Server amd b. Restore my PLEX settings from my old PLEX plugin from my older unRAID 5? Thank you very much (I'm probably taking a day off tomorrow today, I have to get this sorted. Edit: I checked Global Share Settings and Enable disk shares are set to Yes http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrading_to_UnRAID_v6#Disks_shares_lost
February 1, 201610 yr Community Expert The disk locations are where the files are actually located. The easiest thing to do is to amend the share settings to point to where the files actually are. The alternative is to do a Tool->New Config and assign the disks in the order that would be required to match the current share settings.
February 2, 201610 yr Question 2: Could someone please point me to the correct direction as to what I need to do to a. Install Plex Media Server amd b. Restore my PLEX settings from my old PLEX plugin from my older unRAID 5? Part a. Install the Community Applications plugin to find and install any plugin / docker application for v6 Part b. If you were running PhAzE's Plex plugin on v5, then probably your easiest method to transition plex to v6 is to merely use his v6 plugin. Personally, I think you're better off in the long run switching from a plugin to a docker application, so you might want to ask in the linuxserver.io plex's support thread or in binhex's plex support thread for some advice on how to migrate from the plugin to the docker app. (Links are contained within CA)
February 2, 201610 yr Author I've received several suggestions using the docker and I've found two (I think) posts on how to transition. I'll do that, cheers. I'm just continuing with drive replacements for now and I've replanted my share structure and will move my files around when disk movement is done. Thank you.
