I'm looking at the cloud options for unraid so i can access certain files outside my network, does anyone have any suggestions as there are many options ?

If you are looking at generically accessing the unRAID server from outside your network then you should be looking at enabling VPN access to your home LAN.  The best way to do this is via your router if it supports it, but there are alternatives if not.

 

If you are looking at something more like DropBox, then you can run ownCloud on your unRAID server.  I have just set that up to replace functionality I was getting from Copy.com (who have just this week announced they are discontinuing their service).  For this I installed the official ownCloud docker container which is maintained by the ownCloud developers and it was very easy to get it up and running.

Thank you, i have a vpn for administering my unraid server from anywhere (love it), im just looking to access the shares and put stuff in my shares if need be, ill have to give own cloud another go at setting up :)
