Downgrade to 6.1.3 from 6.1.7

Featured Replies

I'm trying to troubleshoot a strange DVB-T/S corruption problem I an having in my VMs.

The system did run fine, at some point something has changed and now after around 8 to 10 minutes I keep getting severe disruption on the recorded streams captured via my TV cards. I've changed recording drive from SSD cache to HDD and still same issue.

I've changed back the motherboard to the original thinking that was the recent change I made but the same issue is there.

I also switched back to a Windows 7 VM from 10 but still the same issue.

The only other thing I can think is I upgraded from 6.13 to 6.1.6/7.

Question - can I just install 6.1.3 safely over my existing config ?

Thanks.

Should be fine, out of interest though, are you using the stock Unraid bzroot & bzimage files?

Yes, using the stock unraid files bzroot & bzimage files.

You should be able to simply copy the bzroot and bzimage files from 6.1.3 to your flash and reboot.

There were a few minor changes to some of the defaults in disk buffers ... e.g. the nr_requests values that needed to be modified in 6.1.3 to keep parity check speeds high are no longer required in 6.1.7 ... but nothing that I'd expect to make any difference in going back to 6.1.3

OK, so just copy those two files only?

They include the Linux kernel etc? Everything that could affect KVM ?

Unfortunately I cannot find my 6.1.3 download and its not on the webpage any more so have emailed support for a copy.

Cheers.

Yep they're the only files you need.

bzroot contains all the OS files and is unpacked to memory on each boot...

If you're desperate for 6.1.3 files you could try the mediabuild ones in my signature.  They've got some stuff enabled in the kernel and some additional drivers added for DVB support natively in Unraid, but you could just as easily use them as stock.  No reported problems with Unraid functionality and these sorts of mediabuild versions have been going since at least V5 sometime...

I'd recommend the Openelec one as the closest to stock.

May help you troubleshoot before LT get back to you.

EDIT: The files you download can just be renamed to bzroot and bzimage instead of messing around with syslinux.cfg
