New to version 6. Is it still a good idea to preclear a drive before adding to the array? If so, do you need to stop the array to preclear a new disk that's not part of the array?

    It's absolutely a good idea to make certain you can trust the new drives with your data before you ever put your data on the drives.

     

    The array does not need to be stopped to preclear new drives.
