This is a frequent issue with Win 10 (i.e. nothing to do with the trial key). It seems to be related to the settings in Windows I believe.

February 7, 201610 yr Use mapped shares. If \\tower\share does not work switch to \\Ip.address\share .... Funny enough, no smb drop problems in Ubuntu (elementary) yet!
