February 9, 201610 yr Hey guys, as the title says, I can't get the vm to start. Mobo- asus m5a97 le cpu- amd fx8350 I assigned 4 cores to the vm 2gb memory just to try and get it running the 380 shows up as an r9 285 error at start: Execution error internal error: early end of file from monitor: possible problem: 2016-02-09T06:26:09.255192Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=05:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: failed to set iommu for container: Operation not permitted 2016-02-09T06:26:09.255218Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=05:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: failed to setup container for group 12 2016-02-09T06:26:09.255227Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=05:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: vfio: failed to get group 12 2016-02-09T06:26:09.255237Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=05:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: Device initialization failed 2016-02-09T06:26:09.255247Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=05:00.0,bus=root.1,addr=00.0,multifunction=on,x-vga=on: Device 'vfio-pci' could not be initialized so it's everything having to do with my gpu they show in the pci devices 00:15.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. February 9, 201610 yr Does UnRAID show that IOMMU and VT-D are enabled (under the about page, or wherever you click in the top right)? A full diagnostics output would be helpful in diagnosing this.
February 10, 201610 yr Author indeed it did, i had to stop tinkering and get my machine back ready for work since i had a shift at 9am while i was swapping gpus i noticed i'm not actually running an m5a97 evo le but a m5a97 evo rev 1.02 i won't have time to rebuild the server until sunday or monday to pull more info for you
