Looking for a replacement board/cpu configuration.

Hello,

I've been rocking unraid for about 5 years now running on an MSI MS-7599. It's now starting to show signs of years of constant use. I've been looking through the forums and the hardware suggestions on the lime-tech wiki but doesn't look like the wiki has added a board since 2013 and all the ones it recommends I can't seem to locate online (newegg, amazon, etc). I'm a bit confused about what does and does not work with unraid, specifically with the gigabyte boards, and want to make sure I get an upgrade that works.

I'm looking to go new board/chip/ram and it needs to be something that has at least 5 onboard SATA connections as well as video on board. The video isn't a hard requirement, but I'd like to keep it simple. Anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks for reading.

There are a ton of setups that work with unRAID so some additional info would help.

- The MSI MS-7599 looks like an AMD motherboard, is that still your preference or are you open to Intel?

- What do you currently do, and want to do in the future with your unRAID server?  Basic NAS duties?  Plugins?  Dockers?  VMs?

- Your current motherboard appears to be ATX, is that the size you want to stay with?

- Do you want any server features like IPMI or ECC RAM?

- What is your budget?

Take a look in the UCD (unRAID Compulsive Design) subforum for some ideas about what others are doing.
