February 10, 201610 yr Hi All I've confirmed using another usb drive that i'm able to upgrade to V6 as everything boots up to the login page. I'm not sure if i have an issue or not but one thing i keep noticing is when i stop my array then power down (in V5) it tells me it was an unclean powerdown, then obviously the next time i power on the parity drive wants to runs it's checks. If upgrade my USB stick to V6 and then power on will i have any issues with my parity drive when it starts to run its checks? John
February 10, 201610 yr check that your USB drive isn't set to read-only by file corruption. Plug it into a Windows machine and run chkdisk.
February 10, 201610 yr Author After i ran chkdsk /f E: i received the error "Unrecoverable error in folder config_corrupt" is this bad, I do have a backup?
February 10, 201610 yr Author I ran chkdsk /f E: again and now it finds now problems, It boots up ok but of course the Parity check kicks in. Once it's finished i will stop the array and check to see if it tells me there was an unclean powerdown.
February 10, 201610 yr If chkdisk can't fix the corruption, I would replace the USB. What is likely happening is unRaid detects your USB file system problem and sets the USB to read-only which means it can not successfully write "I am shutting down properly" back to the USB while powering down. Next boot up unRaid doesn't see that it shut down correctly last time so it runs parity check. Oversimplified but close to reality
February 10, 201610 yr Author Thanks Interwebtech So i change my usb, boot up assign all the drives as per the previous version then run parity check?
