February 12, 201610 yr I just got one off E-Bay and it sees a 2 TB drive ok in unassigned devices so does that mean it should be already flashed with the 2507 firmware and I don't need to do anything?
February 12, 201610 yr If you have a monitor connected it should tell you the firmware version when you boot but you will have to look quickly.
February 12, 201610 yr Author Ok Thanks, both of you. I just took the monitor off but will connect and look later when I put the new MB and his controller in my Backups Server.. I won't need more than 2tb for a while so it's not an immediate problem.
February 12, 201610 yr I don't recall if it shows the version # as it boots or if you have to actually enter the card's BIOS (with Ctrl-A) to see it, but it's very easy to check. As long as you have version 2507 then you've already got > 2TB support, so you're good to go. If you happen to have a > 2TB drive handy (3TB, 4TB, etc.) you could simply connect it to the 1430SA, boot to UnRAID, and see if the drive is shown correctly. No monitor needed for that.
