February 13, 201610 yr Hi any way to get my old VM to work on unraid I the disk are ind vdi but it look like it need to in img ? You can use .vdi files with no issue, even though in unRAID 6.1 the GUI does not explicitly support them, but the underlying KVM does. I use them all the time so that I can switch VM's between KVM and VirtualBox, and also because they typically use less space than the .img files for the same logical vdisk size. You do have to hand-edit the VM XML configuration to specify the type as 'vdi' rather than 'raw' but that is the extend of the change. The biggest issue is likely to be what drivers are installed in the VM. If (as is likely) the VM does not contain the virtio drivers then you need to also edit the XML to specify device types that are recognised by the VM (e.g. 'sata' or 'ide' rather than 'virtio').
