I have stopped getting ALL notifications from Unraid

Featured Replies

I stopped getting them back on Feb 10. No status, no plugin updates, nothing.

Haven't TOUCHED the notification settings since 6.1.6.

I also stopped getting them on a 4.7 server I still have running

Servers are still accessable and no I haven't changed anything the network config.

HOWEVER

Since the 10th I HAVE been getting "Login Attempt Blocked" messages from Google! (I use a Gmail account).

Someone just tried to sign in to your Google Account ..... from an app that doesn't meet modern security standards.

We strongly recommend that you use a secure app, like Gmail, to access your account. All apps made by Google meet these security standards. Using a less secure app, on the other hand, could leave your account vulnerable.

Has Google started enforcing something that UnRaid doesn't do yet?

ADDENDUM: yes went to the 6.1.8 server and did a test on the Gmail account, "Authorization Failed" both with GMAIL an GMAIL/TLS. any suggestions on how to fix?

ADDENDUM 2: Ok Google has tightned up something, I had to go to the 'allow less secure apps" setting https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps and set it to allow less secure apps and notifications started flowing again. They have tightened something up.

Looks like gmail has implemented a new authorization standard and they're trying to drag everyone else along. Lots of people in multiple forums reporting the same problem.
