March 2, 201610 yr I have unRaid 6 setup with 5 private shares, each time I try to access the server path from Windows Explorer from a client for the first time, I experience a delay in seeing the available shares about 10 seconds. Subsequent attempts are instant from the same client. I though maybe it was spin down delay related but this happens even if other clients are active with NAS so drives are active with other clients and a new client experience this delay accessing for the first time. Another guess I have is permissions related, maybe NAS is calculating which shares available for this new client. Any ideas why this is happening? Appreciate your help.

March 3, 201610 yr Author Thank you I'll try that. I experienced the delay with both Window 10 and Windows 7.
