gfx card advise

Featured Replies

I am thinking of getting rid of my desktop system and using my unraid tower as desktop system... What graphic card is known to work really well ? I will not be heavy gaming, but a bit of it may happen.. I prefer to spend a little to much then noticing I spent a bit to little lateron..

See below for my system specs..

bump ?

If you have an integrated GPU, Nvidia seems to be more welcoming with VM reboots, forced stops. If you do not have another GPU then AMD is the only choice for pass through, currently.

Since you have Supermicro boards, I'm thinking there is a VGA console on those, so you can get either GPU.

At that point, it becomes a matter of budget and brand loyalty. Seeing as my average GPU budget is $300 USD I'm a bit slanted to the higher performance side of things. (Currently running two GTX 970 SLI in my bare metal gaming rig).

I want to use my onboard vga for the console so want to add an extra card... If I just want a card for regular desktop performance and the occasional game... Lets say I would want to spend not more then EUR 100.. What would be a good choice ?
