March 3, 201610 yr Hi I've got an issue with parity, I assume. When I look at my media share it says "Some or all files unprotected". I've run parity check twice and it comes back as valid. I've only got the data drives (6 WDred 3TB + 1 WDred 3TB parity) enabled for this share, no cache. Anyone know how to fix this or atleast see what is unprotected?
March 3, 201610 yr If you use a cache drive, any files you write to the cache are unprotected until the mover runs. If you run the mover and still see it then check the cache drive contents.
March 3, 201610 yr Since you say you're not using a cache with that particular share this needs a little more investigation. Try clicking the Compute... for that share on the Shares page of the webGUI. That will show you how the share is spread across your disks. There are other threads related to this issue, such as https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=44103.0

Seems like it still caches some stuff even though I invoked mover several times. Would it be okay to ssh in and use rm -rf to remove those folders from the cachedrive? Assuming that it has been moved by "Mover".
March 6, 201610 yr NO ! If there are files listed on your cachedrive then they are -not- moved to your array yet...

Sorry, I'm confused by what seems to be a contradiction. On the share that shows some unprotected files are you using a cache or not? The mover won't move files that are open or otherwise in use, or if there isn't space on your array according to your allocation strategy. When it does move them it deletes them from the cache so you never have to.
