March 5, 201610 yr I am having some issues re-installing Plex. So, I checked my system log, and I noticed some red error, which I am assuming is for disk 2. However, none of the hard drives show any faults under the WebGui dashboard. Should I be concern? Would it be one of those sata cable issues? Would this be cause Plex not to be re-installed again? tower-syslog-20160305-0308.zip

According to the syslog you are getting errors on disk1 (not disk2). It could well be a cabling issue so definitely check that. It is very rare for the ataX numbers to correspond to the equivalent disk number as they refer to particular hardware ports. Ideally when asking for help with v6 you should post the full diagnostic ZIP file (Tools->Diagnostics) as it gives more information than just the syslog so sometimes a deeper analysis can be done.

March 5, 201610 yr Community Expert Looking at the SMART reports from the diagnostics the Hitachi drive (which I believe is disk1) has 12 reallocated sectors and 1 pending sector. The reallocate sectors are not a concern as long as the value remains stable, but the pending sector is as it can affect your ability to rebuild any other drive in the event of failure. Since that ties up with disk1 reporting possible issues it needs resolving. Pending sectors can only be cleared by a write operation where they either get reallocated if the write fails or the pending status gets removed if it succeeds. Do you have a spare drive? If so then you might want to rebuild disk1 onto that drive and test the current disk1 outside the array. If not then you might want to try rebuilding disk1 back onto itself to see if that clears the pending sector. .

Thanks.

Thanks. If there is any difficulty getting the replacement then you could try rebuilding the drive back onto itself as it might clear the current issue. However since you have both pending sectors and reallocated ones then a replacement might be prudent as they could be the first sign of future trouble. You could also try doing a long SMART test on the drive to see how well that goes.

First, I will check the sata connections. I might need to start upgrading to larger drivers.
