syncing - please wait...

Could it be the pre clear holding things up?

The sync shouldn't take more than a minute or so to complete so it probably is the preclear holding it up.

But, there really was no reason to upgrade until the preclear is finished as you can't reboot to complete the upgrade without messing up the preclear

Yeah I totally forgot the pre clear was going on, my bad. So just wait then until the pre clear finishes and the update should finish too on its own then?

Only one way to find out and congrats.... you're the guinea pig...  ;)

Let us know though, it'll be interesting, as I'm slightly surprised it doesn't just complete and tell you to reboot to finish the upgrade.

syncing takes many, many seconds on my server so that could be part of the issue.  However, you do realize that you will have to reboot the server in order to be running 6.1.9.  Doing that will require that the preclear script be stopped and you will have to start the entire preclear process again from the beginning...

Probably.  If not then just issue a power down from the console

Do you think I can close the update plugin window? Lol

So closing the window reveals that a simple reboot will be required to complete the update, as most expected would be the case.

Closing the window actually stops the script from running but I don't think there's anything else it does short of an echo telling you to reboot.

So should I run the update again and then reboot after my pre clear is done or just reboot?

On the Main page of the WebGUI locate your boot flash device and click the View icon on the far right. In the list of files check the date/timestamp of bzimage and bzroot. If they are today then you're good to go. Just reboot when your pre-clearing has finished.

my experience is that a preclear can stop a sync from completing.  I would think that once the preclear completes the sync will also complete and you can simply reboot.
