March 5, 201610 yr So I can doing a a preclear right now and decided to do the upgrade to 6.1.9 and its taking awhile to finish: plugin: updating: unRAIDServer.plg plugin: downloading: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dnld.lime-technology.com/stable/unRAIDServer-6.1.9-x86_64.zip ... done plugin: downloading: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dnld.lime-technology.com/stable/unRAIDServer-6.1.9-x86_64.md5 ... done Archive: /tmp/unRAIDServer.zip inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/bzimage inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/bzroot inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/changes.txt creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/ extracting: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/go inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/network.cfg inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/ident.cfg creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/plugins/ creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/plugins/dockerMan/ extracting: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/plugins/dockerMan/template-repos inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/install.txt inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/license.txt inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/make_bootable.bat inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/make_bootable_mac inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/memtest creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/ inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/menu.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/ldlinux.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux.cfg- inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/mbr.bin inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/mboot.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux.cfg inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux.exe inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/libutil.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/libcom32.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/make_bootable_mac.sh syncing - please wait... Could it be the pre clear holding things up?
March 5, 201610 yr The sync shouldn't take more than a minute or so to complete so it probably is the preclear holding it up. But, there really was no reason to upgrade until the preclear is finished as you can't reboot to complete the upgrade without messing up the preclear
March 5, 201610 yr Author Yeah I totally forgot the pre clear was going on, my bad. So just wait then until the pre clear finishes and the update should finish too on its own then?
March 5, 201610 yr Yeah I totally forgot the pre clear was going on, my bad. So just wait then until the pre clear finishes and the update should finish too on its own then? Only one way to find out and congrats.... you're the guinea pig... Let us know though, it'll be interesting, as I'm slightly surprised it doesn't just complete and tell you to reboot to finish the upgrade.
March 5, 201610 yr syncing takes many, many seconds on my server so that could be part of the issue. However, you do realize that you will have to reboot the server in order to be running 6.1.9. Doing that will require that the preclear script be stopped and you will have to start the entire preclear process again from the beginning...
March 5, 201610 yr Author So closing the window reveals that a simple reboot will be required to complete the update, as most expected would be the case.
March 5, 201610 yr Closing the window actually stops the script from running but I don't think there's anything else it does short of an echo telling you to reboot.
March 5, 201610 yr Author So should I run the update again and then reboot after my pre clear is done or just reboot?
March 5, 201610 yr On the Main page of the WebGUI locate your boot flash device and click the View icon on the far right. In the list of files check the date/timestamp of bzimage and bzroot. If they are today then you're good to go. Just reboot when your pre-clearing has finished.
March 5, 201610 yr So should I run the update again and then reboot after my pre clear is done or just reboot? my experience is that a preclear can stop a sync from completing. I would think that once the preclear completes the sync will also complete and you can simply reboot.
