March 7, 201610 yr For some time now I have been unable to configure my Sonos controller application to scan the music files stored on my server. I have attempted to configure access to the share with and without a username/password and as root, utilizing the IP address of server. Sonos just spins stating that it is "Updating my Music Library" but the folder is never added nor files scanned and made available. I suspect that might have something to do with my permissions or perhaps plugins (OpenVPN) but am at a loss as to how to troubleshoot and resolve, though I have run tools > New Permissions and CHMOD -R 770 on the Music share. The music share's SMB settings are configured as export:yes, Security:Public. March 7, 201610 yr Community Expert Not familiar with Sonos personally. Does it give you any indication that it even sees your unRAID server on the network?
March 7, 201610 yr Author I have to manually enter the path so not really. The error log does suggest that the share is no longer available: 3/4/16, 9:27 PM Indexing your music collection could not be completed. '//192.168.1.200/music' is no longer available. No indexing was performed on this share. It previously worked just fine but at some point in the past, i managed to screw something up.
March 7, 201610 yr Author Yes it does. Is there a possibility that the OpenVPN configuration as prevented sonos from accessing the files?
