March 7, 201610 yr Hi there, i'm still new here ad is trying to figure it all out. I've got a xw8600 up and running unRAID, it all works fine, but i was wondering ... i've played a bit with the thought of doing a GPU passthrough to my windows VM, not that i need it but - more is more. The w8600 has dual Intel Xeon E5410, and as far as I can see it dosen't have Vt-d, but, under "info" i got HVM: Enabled and IOMMU: Enabled. and in BIOS i got Intel Virtualization Technology: Enabled and Intel IO Virtualization: Enabled. But, again, GPU passthrough should not work - right?
March 7, 201610 yr Author If iommu is showing as enabled in info, you should be able to pass through a gpu. That's what I thought, but intel doesn't show support for vt-d on there hp. I've testet this before but got an error, and just wanted to post that error so made a new VM, but now theres no error, and the external monitor turns on when the VM in turn on - bit with just a black screen. I'll try with another graphics card later and post the results.
