March 10, 201610 yr I just have 3 drives attached in the trial mode and there are no card readers attached to this board. The main page shows my three drives in the drop downs but they are greyed out. The page also is long and has a listing for 24 disks. Near the bottom it says "Too many attached devices" I used unraid years ago and it's still going strong, but can't get past this one hurdle in setup in Version 6 Thanks
March 10, 201610 yr Community Expert I would suggest that you post the diagnostics file (Tools->Diagnostics) so we can see what is happening on your system.
March 10, 201610 yr Community Expert Cannot spot anything obviously wrong. I assume you have obtained the TRIAL key and that the key file is in the config folder on the USB drive? One thing that I seem to remember is that this error can be reported if the time is not accurate (not sure why). It might be worth checking Settings->Date and Time to make sure that they look OK. If it is not that then I am sure others will have some other ideas.
March 10, 201610 yr Author Wow, that's out of left field. I checked the time in the BIOS and Unraid and it is correct. But the weird thing is my BIOS time keeps reverting to Greenwich Mean Time (or so it seems to be _that_ time). I'm not sure why. Is Unraid changing the BIOS time then correcting for Pacific USA time? -8 hours Anyway, this roadblock is frustrating. The Unraid time in Settings is fine, but all the options to assign the drives are greyed and the Main page says Stopped. Invalid configuration - see config: it's NOT, and "too many attached devices" - NOT true. I'm unfamiliar with normal operation so I'm looking everywhere for issues. Yes, maybe someone can see some issue in the Diagnostics or have some good insights. Thanks.
March 10, 201610 yr I assume you have obtained the TRIAL key and that the key file is in the config folder on the USB drive? The syslog leads me to believe the answer to this question is no.
March 12, 201610 yr Author You assume incorrectly! I had NOT obtained a Trial key. I deduced that a few hours ago and resolved. The Getting Started guide omits this procedure and earlier versions Unraid did not require it. I think it should be included and made more prominent in the guides. I followed the guides and did not get the expected/published result. However PROBLEM SOLVED. Thanks!
