March 11, 201610 yr Hi, I have just trialled the software using 2 data disks and 1 parity, I seem to have made the assumption that the parity disk is not part of the disk limit as I have just purchased the basic licence and am trying to configure my 6 data disks and 1 parity but I get a message telling me to consider upgrading my licence. Is this correct? if so I have wasted $10 on my licence as I would need to upgrade a licence I have just purchased? also I am preclearing some disks and the array wont start as too many disks are in the system but they are not part of the array so why wont the array start? they are just inserted for the preclearing process.
