Transferring from USB3.0 to NAS

What is the fastest way to transfer files from a USB3.0 drive, formatted as NTFS to an unRAID machine, with no cache drive (building the machine as i have money to buy parts), and limited to 10/100 networking?  Suggestions?

    Plug the drive directly into the unRaid server and use Unassigned Devices plugin.

     

    If you're lucky, the drive will be able to be mounted. After that point, it's a matter of using your favorite means of copying files from usb3-drive to array data drive.

    I was in the middle of thinking about doing it manually...shudder.
