March 12, 201610 yr It seems an update to Java has made it so flippin' secure that it won't allow me to launch my remote control console for my own server. I'm using an older Tams server, so updates to my IPMI card firmware aren't an option. The Java exceptions (for my server's IP) are in place and have been working for eons. I'm hoping there is some cryptic setting that I can alter- that just tells JAVA to JUST TRUST 192.168.1.200 AND STOP SECURING ME INTO OBLIVION. Has anyone else had this problem yet? Know how to work around it? Thanks
March 12, 201610 yr Author I also use Firefox, but my IPMI only presents me with two options for "Remote console type" when I go into its settings: Default Java VM Sun Microsystems Java Browser Plugin Maybe I'm too far behind the curve to understand your suggestion properly. (HOPING that's the case, actually) Care to elaborate? ELI5

It sounds like you are using a Kira-100 ipmi module from SM H8DME-8 motherboard - correct? You probably already updated f/w to latest version, but just in case: ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/CDR-SIMIPMI_1.13_for_SIM_IPMI/ I will rundown my setup known to work, and you can use any differences as a starting point to troubleshoot. Server 2012 R2 standard Firefox v45.0 Java 32bit v8u72 - security level "High" - exception site list - added ips of ipmi nics If still no luck I will try to dig up my mboard w/same impi module and see if I can recreate.
