March 14, 201610 yr Not sure if this is by design or an issue with either unRAID or this specific install. I'm seeing roughly 50% minimum cpu usage on the web interface and ~90% CPU usage minimum per VM in the top program in shell when both VM's are just sitting idle. Is this normal or can I configure something to ease the load? top - 10:13:47 up 10 days, 17:11, 1 user, load average: 3.69, 3.04, 3.00 Tasks: 127 total, 2 running, 125 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 38.0%us, 9.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 52.6%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st Mem: 32920848k total, 32433556k used, 487292k free, 1522584k buffers Swap: 0k total, 0k used, 0k free, 288000k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 5751 root 20 0 16.6g 14g 17m S 96 45.7 12577:15 qemu-system-x86 30364 root 20 0 16.6g 14g 17m R 96 45.6 6255:02 qemu-system-x86 1652 root 20 0 89000 3444 3000 S 1 0.0 4:33.79 emhttp 1604 root 20 0 13356 6184 1992 S 1 0.0 44:49.99 cpuload 1836 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 1:26.53 kworker/1:0 1 root 20 0 4368 1620 1516 S 0 0.0 0:09.33 init 2 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:02.36 kthreadd 3 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:09.48 ksoftirqd/0 5 root 0 -20 0 0 0 S 0 0.0 0:00.00 kworker/0:0H ... March 14, 201610 yr Try disabling the audio devices and see if it makes any difference, I'm having a similar issue.
March 17, 201610 yr Author Not sure what was the issue. Rebooted both VMs yesterday, removed the onboard audio device from one of them, started up, cpu usage was ok. Added the audio device back again, cpu usage was still ok. The other VM has an USB audio device connected to a passthrough USB controller so that shouldn't matter anyway.
