How to add more memory to current VM

Featured Replies

Is there a way  to add additional memory to an already existing VM.

I recently bought more memory for my server and the ram was installed perfectly fine no issues, Im just trying to figure how to allocate more memory towards the already existing VM instead of creating a whole new VM with more memory allocated towards it.

Yes.  Simply edit the VM configuration information.

Yes.  Simply edit the VM configuration information.

Could you possibly show me picture of where this is? I'm not sure if view xml is the correct location.

Click on the VM icon and select the Edit (or Edit XML) option.

The VM cannot be running if you want to edit the RAM. You'll have to shut down the VM before you can see edit.
