SAMBA network refresh issue

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can someone please test the following on 6.2 beta19? I'm not sure if it's a change in my network environment or the beta that introduced the following problem...

1.) Create a SAMBA network share or use one that already exists.

2.) Open windows explorer and browse to that share.

3.) Start an internet download and save it to the share you created.

4.) Go back to the explorer window you had opened with the share.

5.) Does the download appear? If yes, it's me. If no, hit F5 and check if it now appears.

For me copying files to the share using explorer does not have an issue, the explorer window refreshes OK. It's only when a file is place in the share using some other app like chrome, IDM etc that the auto refresh doesn't happen. I tried this on a laptop and VM (both Windows 10) and same results.

I tried this test, but I used total commander and terra copy to copy to a share.  I had a separate explorer window opened.

The Explorer windows did not refresh automatically.  If I copied from and explorer window to another explorer window (not the one I am viewing to see if refresh happens) then the window refreshes.

thanks for trying that, so there might be an issue with SAMBA 4.3.5 ? Anyone else care to try?
